JOHN PATRICK BEDELL SHOT DEAD

Pentagon official told the press that the shooter, John Patrick Bedell responsible for opening fire at two policemen at Pentagon, was well-armed. The shooter, John Patrick Bedell was shot dead on the spot.

John Patrick Bedell carried a two 9 millimeter semiautomatic weapons with several magazines of ammunition.

He further informed that the shooter was from Hollister, Calif. He many last weeks driving from the West Coast. The police recovered his car in a local parking garage with more ammunition in it.

U.S. military closed the office complex on Thursday evening due to shooting which resulted 3 policemen injured.

The people policemen were taken to George Washington Hospital in Washington.

The suspect, John Patrick Bedell, was shot dead on the spot.

6.4 Earthquake smashes Taiwan on Thursday, March 4, 2010

A 6.4 earthquake struck southern Taiwan on Thursday morning on 4 March, 2010 at 8:20.
Taiwan earthquake caused 11 people injured, but there is no news of any death toll so far.
Taiwan earthquake smashed bridges and buildings while a factory caught fire as the result of earthquake as well. The power is also disrupted due to this earthquake.

An earthquake of 8.8 magnitude wrecked Chile resulting a death toll of 800 lives just 5 days earlier in the month of February, 2010.

In the same month of February, 2010, a destructive and devastating earthquake smashed the island of Haiti depriving 200,000 humans from their lives whereas it also damaged the infrastructure greatly.

OKLAHOMA FIRES – NEWS

According to CNN, Taloga, Oklahoma, was vacated on Thursday due to uncontrolled spreading fire. The raging fir e burnt down tens of thousands of acres. Around 400 residents left the Dewey County town. Later on they were allowed back to stay in their houses.

According to the state Department of Emergency Management, wildfires have been burning in northwest and central Oklahoma since Thursday.

According to Clinton Fire Department, almost 60,000 acres are burnt, but there in any confirmed reports of anybody’s being injured or wounded.

MAUNDY THURSDAY

WHAT IS MAUNDY THURSDAY?

Maundy Thursday is the Thursday one day before Good Friday. Maundy Thursday is the day when Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples which is also known as the Last Supper. Maundy Thursday is also known as Holy Thursday. Maundy Thursday has the significance for two events.

FIRST EVENT ON MAUNDY THURSDAY

Firstly, Jesus had and celebrated the Last Supper with his disciples and in so doing they instituted the Lord’s Supper, also called Communion. The reference can be found in “Luke 22:19-20”.

In memory of Jesus’ Last Supper with his disciples, Christian churches observe a special Communion service on Maundy Thursday.

SECOND EVENT ON MAUNDY THURSDAY

Secondly, Jesus washed the feet of his disciples’. Jesus did it to show the humbleness and service and set an example of loving and serving one another with meekness and sincerity. The reference can be found in John 13:3-17.

Christian churches also observe a foot-washing ceremony on Maundy Thursday in memory of the act done by Jesus.

MESSAGE OF MAUNDY THURSDAY

“Maundy” is a Latin word which means “command.” Maundy Thursday gives us the message that Jesus delivered his disciples at the Last Supper and the message was that they should love and serve one another with humility.

Good Friday is the coming Friday right after Easter Sunday. It is the day of the crucifixion and death of Jesus. It takes place during the Holy Week. The Good Friday is also known as “Good Friday of the Lord's Passion” and “Great Friday”.
The Good Friday has been celebrated since ancient times around 4th century. There is no authentic known reason why it is termed as "Good Friday".

PALM SUNDAY

According to Christian calendar, Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter. It is 6th and last Sunday in Lent and the 1st day of the Holy Week. It is the remembrance of the day when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on an ass. All his devotees shouted “Hosanna” and they spread out palms in his path.

PALM SUNDAY – TRADITIONS There are different traditions all over the world for the Palm Day. The commonest tradition is to give palm leaves-made crosses to the worshipers which they wear gladly.
Another tradition which is not much common is about eating figs. This tradition denotes the event when Jesus was entered Jerusalem and stopped near a fig tree hoping to eat some figs but the tree was fruitless.

QUEENS CENTER MALL SUICIDE – NEWS

A woman, in her mid-50s, jumped off the third floor of the Queens Center Mall about 3 PM on Wednesday which resulted in her death on the spot. She fell on the lower level of the shopping center in Elmhurst, four stories below.

She fell on a high school student injuring him on his head when the kid was walking on the floor. The kid was immediately taken to hospital.

People who were shopping there shrieked and ran. The police and the Queens district attorney, Richard A. Brown, got there quickly and helped calm the people.

The woman was accompanied by two teenagers.

A witness, Shanell Williams, at queens center mall suicide scene said that she was attending customers at the NYS Collection, a sunglasses kiosk on the second floor, she heard a loud bang. She further said:

“First I thought it was a gunshot, and I said ‘I’m out of here,’” Ms. Williams said. “People started screaming. There was pandemonium and chaos. And I looked below to the lower level and people were screaming that someone had jumped from above.”
