PALM SUNDAY

According to Christian calendar, Palm Sunday is the Sunday before Easter. It is 6th and last Sunday in Lent and the 1st day of the Holy Week. It is the remembrance of the day when Jesus entered Jerusalem riding on an ass. All his devotees shouted “Hosanna” and they spread out palms in his path.

Palm Sunday is also known as:
  • • Passion Sunday
  • • Palm Sunday of the Lord’s Passion

PALM SUNDAY – TRADITIONS There are different traditions all over the world for the Palm Day. The commonest tradition is to give palm leaves-made crosses to the worshipers which they wear gladly.
Another tradition which is not much common is about eating figs. This tradition denotes the event when Jesus was entered Jerusalem and stopped near a fig tree hoping to eat some figs but the tree was fruitless.
